		<description>Thanks for the great story and splendid picture, which seemed very familiar to me. Perhaps I saw it in the paper at the time of that race. I've seen riders end up in similar positions at competitive riding events, especially jumping, but they don't usually have to hang on so long. However, it also reminded me of the story my mother used to tell of when she was a teenager and very frightened of cows. She was cycling to school through the cobbled streets of her market town in England when she found herself in the middle of a herd of cattle being driven to market. Terrified, she began to wobble, and eventually fell off---only to find herself hanging with her arms around the neck of a cow. She survived with only minor damage, except to her pride. Thanks for provoking that memory.</description>
